Member Spotlight - Vicky Payne - Level Up Bookclub

I'm Vicky, the founder of The Level Up Book Club. My business was born out of just feeling really lonely. I was desperate to move forward in my career (one I thought I loved) and just knew I had unlocked potential. I read 100s of self help books, Rich Dad Poor Dad, atomic habits, you name it. But I just popped them back on the shelf. I didn't DO anything with them and now I know it's because I had no one to talk to about it. No one who "got it" so I thought I would go find some people.

 

​What is the core mission of your business and how does it impact your community or clients?

To help ambitious women master their mindset so they can design the lives they want and launch their dreams with confidence and ease. We turn the theory from self-development books into practical, actionable steps, providing our community with the mindset, resilience, and support they need to transform their lives.

 

​Who is your ideal client and how do you help them transform their lives or business?

A woman who wants to go to the next level in their career, side hustle it business but who feel stuck and overwhelmed. She has a stack of self-help books but is battling inner critics. I help them transform by giving them a powerful community and a clear path to move from passive reading to purposeful action, so they can finally launch their dreams.

 

​What has been your biggest breakthrough moment in business so far?

Honestly just starting. I've been sat on this seed of an idea since pre COVID. I was just so stuck I didn't know what to do about it. But with the right community I've learnt you can do anything. 

 

​What makes you different from others in your industry, and why is that your superpower?

Self help books are amazing but it's a noisy space. It can be overwhelming, I know I've been there. I'm here to help you get actually put them into action and design your life the way YOU want it. 

 

​What are the top 3 values that guide your business and decision-making?

Community, resilience, and purposeful action.

 

​​​If you could give one piece of advice to other entrepreneurs, what would it be?

Stop trying to do it all alone. Find your tribe. You need cheerleaders and it's much more fun with folks!

 

​What does success look like for you, both personally and professionally?

Success for me is funding the lifestyle I want whilst doing something I truly believing in. Creating a community to help others climb.

 

​How do you stay motivated and inspired during tough times in your business?

The books!! So simple, I tend to put on an audio book to hear the voices of the people I admire and feel connected. Then I lean on my level up tribe who I know have my back. I try and see any set backs as just a data point. One a can learn on for the next step 

 

​What future goals are you most excited about, and how do you plan to reach them?

To do an in person meet up in my home - the forest! I can see it being the most magical day!

 

​​How does your business support your lifestyle and personal passions outside of work?

It energises me which I am thankful for. To find that is pretty special 

 

​What’s a fun fact or unexpected talent that most people don’t know about you?

I am a history geek! So much so I started a podcast about women who were erased from history!!
